Körös-Maros National Park

Oasis of Nature

The ancient landscapes of South-Eastern part of Hungary nowadays remained just as islands. These green oasis are the most important habitats of as valuable species as Great Bustard, Red-footed Falcon or Imperial Eagle. Protected areas of our national park have significant role as gathering and roosting sites for ten thousands of Cranes, wild geese and many other species on their migration.

Unregulated rivers, wild marshlands and forests and the typical Hungarian steppes are paradise of nature lovers, photographers, hikers and families.

White Lake of Kardoskút

One of the most valuable part of the national park is the White Lake of Kardoskút, which has international importance and has been covered by the Ramsar Convention since 1979. The White Lake gives home those kind of birds like Red-Footed Falcons, European Rollers, Black-tailed Godwits and Common Redshanks.  The interactive exhibitions showcasing bird migration here is open all year round by appointment.
